Rhetorical Criticism is something we will get or have everyday of our lives. In my opinion Ethos is where the authority of the argument comes from, Pathos is appealing to feeling and Logos to well logic. Now, how does this appear to and relate to the Gospel in the eyes of Latter-day saints.
Well, we have Heavenly Father, his son Jesus Christ and we are all his children. Are we not? As I child needs to be repetitively reminded of what they should and shouldn’t be doing and the consequences that will follow. It’s the same with our own families, now granted you may not have had parents, but you may have a guardian of some sort that has watched over you while growing up, weather or not you got the nurturing that you deserved is another story interiorly.
A parents consistency with there kid never tires of the demand, because of there great love for the child, this is also true with the Lord through his holy prophets that lead and guide for the given time that is needed and the given time of which to give the message. This cycle is continueous, consistent, repetitive, even forever and some would say this is boring and what’s so interesting about that. Are simple facts plainly stated plainly boring? Yes.
